The band originated from the
"Kronwerk Brass" academic quintet founded in 1997. The quintet had over 10
years of plentiful successful performance in Russia and Western Europe and
recorded a number of disks. February 20, 2010 can be reckoned the birthday of a
new 12 musician lineup as the date when the "Kronwerk-brass" presented the "The
Musicians of Bremen - 2" programme on the stage of St.-Petersburg Academic
Capella.
Since that day the band has been performing on the
best stages of St.-Petersburg, has become the award winner of two competitions
(III International festival "Interfolk", November, 2010 - I prize, IV
International open festival-competition "In retro style", February, 2011 -
Grand Prix) and gained its own audience. Its repertoire has music of various
trends and epochs in individual musical adaptations mainly.
The artistic director of the band and the author of
the most of orchestrations is Ilya Kuznetsov, the St.-Petersburg Conservatory
Theory and Composing Faculty graduate.
